Report: WWE Preparing to Announce New Wave of ID Program Signings

WWE’s innovative developmental pipeline is reportedly gearing up for another major expansion. Following the recent confirmation last weekend that independent standout Jariel Rivera had officially joined the program, the company is expected to announce several additional WWE ID signings in the near future.

Expanding the Reach of the WWE ID Initiative

According to a new report from Fightful Select, WWE management has already quietly signed several female competitors through the developmental initiative. However, the specific identities of these talents, along with the total number of new recruits in this upcoming class, have been kept strictly confidential pending an official corporate announcement.

The WWE ID (Independent Development) program was launched in October 2024 as a strategic method to bring promising independent wrestlers under the corporate umbrella while simultaneously allowing them to continue honing their craft on the indie circuit. Athletes signed to these contracts receive valuable access to WWE’s world-class training resources and medical staff while gaining crucial in-ring experience outside the traditional NXT system. The program heavily utilizes affiliated wrestling schools, most notably Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling and the Nightmare Factory, run by Cody Rhodes and QT Marshall.

The initiative also features its own championships, which are defended across various independent promotions. Currently, Laynie Luck reigns as the WWE ID Women’s Champion, having captured the vacant title in November after inaugural champion Kylie Rae stepped away due to pregnancy. Luck’s championship victory also secured her a full WWE ID contract. Fans are eagerly awaiting the official reveal of the newest batch of developmental prospects.
