The independent wrestling scene is pulling out all the stops for WrestleMania 42 week in Las Vegas. WrestleCon recently announced a massive cross-promotional attraction for their marquee event, featuring one of the most celebrated high-flyers in the industry today.
A Clash of Lucha Libre Styles at the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow
WrestleCon took to social media to confirm that reigning Ring of Honor World Champion Bandido will be competing at the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow on Thursday, April 16. His opponent will be the impressive Galeno Del Mal. Galeno, a powerful seven-year pro, is a member of the legendary Wagner wrestling family; his brother, El Hijo Del Dr. Wagner Jr., recently made headlines with his debut on WWE SmackDown.
While Galeno Del Mal has primarily been making his name in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH as a former GHC National Champion, he also has significant experience within the WWE-owned AAA promotion. In 2025, he shared the ring with current WWE roster members such as El Grande Americano, Cruz Del Toro, and Joaquin Wilde, making this upcoming clash with the AEW/ROH star incredibly intriguing for fans.
Bandido enters the match with serious momentum, having held the ROH Championship for nearly a year since dethroning Chris Jericho. He was recently recognized in the 2025 Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards, finishing second for Most Outstanding Wrestler. The highly anticipated Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow will take place at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas and stream live for audiences worldwide on Thriller TV.
