The high-flying offensive arsenal of Kevin Knight will continue to be a staple of All Elite Wrestling programming for the foreseeable future. According to a new report from Fightful Select, Knight has officially signed a new, multi-year contract extension with the promotion.
A Breakout Year Leads to Long-Term Deal
The 29-year-old originally signed a one-year agreement with AEW at the beginning of 2025. Following an incredibly impressive rookie year with the company, management moved quickly to secure him to a longer-term deal, with the report noting that Knight is highly regarded by officials backstage.
Knight’s professional wrestling journey began in the rigorous New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) system. He debuted as a “Young Lion” in 2020, training extensively at the company’s Los Angeles dojo. During his tenure with NJPW, he formed a successful tag team with veteran KUSHIDA, capturing the IWGP Junior Tag Team titles on two separate occasions.
Seeking new opportunities, Knight chose to leave NJPW in January 2025 and transition to AEW. The move paid off almost immediately. He quickly formed the dynamic “JetSpeed” tag team alongside Speedball Mike Bailey. The duo rapidly ascended the ranks, wrestling some of the top teams in the division. Their success culminated in January when they, along with “Hangman” Adam Page, defeated The Opps to capture the AEW World Trios Championships. While they recently lost those titles on Wednesday’s Dynamite following an impromptu challenge from the Don Callis Family, Knight’s new contract ensures he will have plenty of time to capture more gold in AEW.
