The burgeoning partnership between WWE and TNA Wrestling has sparked a wave of excitement throughout the industry, and few are more enthusiastic about the collaboration than multi-time champion Bayley. During a recent interview on Busted Open Radio, the veteran superstar revealed that competing under the TNA banner was a primary dream of hers long before she arrived in WWE.
“The Knockouts Division Has Always Been a Dream”
Bayley spoke fondly of the “golden era” of the TNA Knockouts division, citing legends like Gail Kim as major influences on her own career. “TNA was one of my dreams as a kid. I loved the Knockouts division. They were like the hottest division for so long,” Bayley confessed. She even revealed that she had performed a tryout for the promotion as far back as 2010.
As WWE continues to expand its horizons through various international and domestic partnerships, Bayley is eager to participate. “I would love to dip my toes in TNA and AAA and all these things. If we have the doors to do that, I would love to,” she stated. While the current WWE-TNA cooperation has primarily focused on the NXT brand, Bayley remains hopeful that the “forbidden door” will eventually allow established main roster stars to cross over for a historic appearance.
In the meantime, Bayley remains a central pillar of the Monday Night Raw locker room, a position she describes as a fulfilling mentorship role. She is currently focused on reclaiming singles gold; on tonight’s episode of Raw, she will compete in a high-stakes Number One Contender’s Gauntlet Match. She faces a formidable field including IYO SKY, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, Ivy Nile, and Lyra Valkyria, with the winner earning a championship opportunity against the newly crowned Women’s Intercontinental Champion, AJ Lee.
