Kenny Omega said he feels more confident than he has since returning from his health-related absence and is looking at the AEW World Championship picture positively ahead of his Forbidden Door match with Zack Sabre Jr., speaking with The Sportster.
“I mean, it still goes day by day. I have good days, I have bad days. But generally speaking, it’s moving in a positive trajectory. So I feel like how I felt when I came back is leagues different than how I feel now,” Omega said. “It’s great to be able to feel confident and commit to being able to have these singles matches that I’ve wanted to have.”
He also spoke to the personal challenge of proving he is still The Cleaner. “I know what I was capable of way back in the day, and I had the utmost confidence in saying, I know I’m the best.” With MJF holding the AEW World Championship and Will Ospreay expected to advance, an Omega title program before or at All In remains a possibility.
Omega faces ZSJ at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on Sunday in San Jose.
