Jeff Jarrett said Roman Reigns has spent years as a special attraction rather than a babyface or a heel, and that the question itself tells the story.
Asked directly which side Reigns is on, Jarrett said on My World with Jeff Jarrett that he was taught to keep a third column when lining up a roster.
“I always had a column, and also you have out here in this third column, if you will, not a heel, not a babyface. You had special attractions, and the old man taught me, son, if you keep that talent in special attractions long enough, then they no longer become special attractions, if you don’t really get them involved in stories,” Jarrett said.
He said Reigns has been in that slot for a long stretch.
“I think Roman has stayed in that special attraction role, if you will, now seven, eight years, maybe not, that may be too far, but several years. The fact that you’re asking that, I believe, focuses on the reality of it. I don’t think he’s either. I think he’s a star. I think he’s a special attraction,” Jarrett said. “But I don’t think there is any emotion coming from the WWE fan base. ‘Oh, I love that guy. Oh, I hate that guy.’ He’s Roman, so I don’t have the answer. I truly could not tell you.”
