Nikki Bella says her WWE SmackDown match against Paige on September 11 lasted under three and a half minutes, shorter than she expected.
Discussing the match on The Nikki & Brie Show, Nikki said she had prepared for a bigger, premium-live-event-level fight, but the short finish still generated a strong reaction. She said, “I’m all about the story, so take it away, and it’s great heat, right? And it gets people talking. And now they’re like, when’s this gonna happen? What’s next?”
Nikki said friends texted her asking why the match was so short, and she placed the blame on Paige’s approach in the ring. When Brie suggested she instead point to the “boss” in WWE, Nikki maintained it was Paige’s fault, saying Paige “came out like an angry woman.”
