Jeff Jarrett said Brian Lawler had everything that could not be taught from the first time he saw him work on Memphis television.

Lawler started out doing jobs on Memphis TV with partner Tony Williams while Jarrett was already a couple of years into the business.

“You knew right away Brian could take bumps. He had that cackling laugh. He had charisma,” Jarrett said on My World with Jeff Jarrett.

Jarrett said the resemblance to his father was in every detail of his work.

“His mannerisms, his punch, the chewing of the gum, he was just like a little Jerry. But when he got going, and there was that era, ’92, ’93, ’94, where all of us were kind of working at the same time,” Jarrett said. “Brian was super talented, but he could get more heat in the dressing room, more than me.”

He noted Lawler was billed as Brian Christopher rather than under the family name.
