Thunder Rosa says her Lights Out match with Britt Baker helped change the trajectory of the AEW women’s division.
Speaking with Zach Johnson, Rosa said it has been close to two years since she last had a match of that kind, adding, “It’s kind of crazy that a lot of people got to know me from having some of the most brutal women’s matches at the time in the history of professional wrestling.”
Rosa said she does not single out one moment as her favorite, saying, “There’s different moments in my career that have been very, very special, like winning the championship, winning a championship in Mexico, winning championships and defending them all over the world, like Japan and London, and just working with different people. It’s always been such a pleasure.”
Rosa defeated Baker in an unsanctioned Lights Out match on the St. Patrick’s Day Slam episode of AEW Dynamite in March 2021. The two face each other again next week in Pittsburgh, with Rosa teaming with Hyan against Baker and Persephone.
