Jeff Jarrett believes AEW National Champion Andrade El Idolo could be headed to the top of the company.
Speaking on the latest episode of My World with Jeff Jarrett, Jarrett said, “The guy is a flat-out machine. He’s a gamer. Rises to every occasion.” He added, “I’m curious to see just how far he can take his current momentum and success. Maybe, just maybe, all the way to the top.”
Asked whether Andrade could one day challenge for the AEW World Championship, Jarrett said, “Timing’s everything. So he’s got to continue and stay the course.”
Jarrett pointed to Andrade’s catchphrase as a sign of his charisma, calling it “organic, innate charisma that just kind of bubbles out.” He compared the situation to how WWE handled Stone Cold Steve Austin’s rise, saying, “When they poured the gas on, and then when it took off, I just think there was some real magic.”
He cautioned against pushing too hard too fast, saying, “I think with Andrade, if you do it right and don’t go too far pedal to the metal and let the momentum continue, then I think you have some stuff.” He added, “Let it naturally evolve. It’ll get there.”
Andrade defends the National Championship against PAC at AEW All Out on September 26.
