Jeff Jarrett was backstage at AEW All Out when Steven Borden was taken out of the building by ambulance.
Borden and Darby Allin faced Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight in a No. 1 contender’s match on September 26. The match was stopped by the doctor after Borden hit the back of his head following a midair collision with Knight. Tony Khan said at the All Out media scrum that Borden was awake and responsive at the hospital and that his tests had come back good.
On My World with Jeff Jarrett, Jarrett said he has known Borden for a long time.
“I’ve known Steven essentially his entire life. But kind of fast forward to Saturday afternoon when you look at the timeline and his AEW career, he debuted on Dynamite 17 days prior to this, two and a half weeks.”
He described the moment Borden was brought through the back.
“I was backstage when they wheeled him by on the ambulance, and it’s an eerie feeling. It just, that kind of feeling when you have someone strapped down on a gurney, people are a little bit of chaos.”
“You’re never fully prepared for that, but man, that is a real reality check of the industry.”
Jarrett also credited referee Bryce Remsburg, ringside physician Dr. Michael Sampson, and the production crew for how the situation was handled.
