All Elite Wrestling has announced a special two-night “Homecoming” event, with the company set to return to Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida, this October. The shows will include the annual “Title Tuesday” edition of AEW Dynamite on October 7 and a special Wednesday night broadcast of AEW Collision on October 8.
AEW Dynamite and Collision Set for Special ‘Homecoming’ in Jacksonville
In an announcement made this week, AEW confirmed its two-night return to the venue that served as its home base during the pandemic era. The first show of the homecoming week will be the special Tuesday, October 7, broadcast of AEW Dynamite. The following night, Wednesday, October 8, the company will tape its Saturday night show, AEW Collision, from the same venue. This two-night event marks a special return to a building that holds a significant place in the company’s six-year history. Tickets for the two-night event will go on sale to the general public on Monday, August 18, with pre-sales beginning on Thursday, August 14.
The History of Title Tuesday
The Tuesday night broadcast for Dynamite is part of a tradition that began for AEW in 2022. Each October, the company’s flagship show is preempted from its usual Wednesday night time slot on the TBS network due to the channel’s broadcast rights for the Major League Baseball Playoffs. To ensure fans are still delivered a can’t-miss show, AEW created the “Title Tuesday” concept. These special episodes have historically been presented as pay-per-view-quality broadcasts, often featuring major championship matches and significant storyline developments. By branding the show as a special event, AEW has successfully turned a potential scheduling conflict into an annual television highlight for its fanbase.
Daily’s Place: The Unofficial Home of AEW
For long-time AEW fans, a return to Daily’s Place is always a special occasion. The open-air amphitheater, which is connected to the home of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, became the company’s sanctuary during the most difficult days of the COVID-19 pandemic. From March 2020 until the company was able to resume full-time touring in July 2021, Daily’s Place was the site of nearly every single episode of AEW Dynamite and all of the company’s pay-per-view events. This period, known as the “pandemic era,” is remembered for its unique atmosphere, where the live crowd was made up of other wrestlers and staff.
The venue was the backdrop for some of the most iconic moments in AEW history. It was in Daily’s Place that the legendary Sting made his shocking debut for the company. It was where the emotional tribute show for the late, great Brodie Lee took place. And it was the site of numerous classic matches and championship victories for stars like Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega. For both the wrestlers and the fans who supported the company through that uncertain time, Daily’s Place is more than just a venue; it is a symbol of the company’s resilience and its commitment to delivering for its audience no matter the circumstances. This two-night “Homecoming” event in October is a fitting tribute to that legacy.
