On the latest episode of the “WHW” podcast, Tony Schiavone discussed a wide range of topics.
During the podcast, the AEW announcer discussed the Anything Goes match between Bryan Danielson and Jeff Jarrett last week on AEW Dynamite.
“Well of course, I loved it. I loved the fact that they used Steamboat, we brought Steamboat into North Carolina. We had a great crowd, very responsive crowd. As soon as the show was over, I immediately went backstage. I’ve done this with a lot of guys, but I wanted to see Jeff for sure and tell him, ‘Man, I appreciate the work that you did and putting your body on the line for a great show.’ We bust each other’s balls all the time but I said, ‘I’m serious this time, thank you for doing that.’ I was thinking someone your age, but I didn’t go there. I was thinking someone his age would go out there and do what he did for us to have a good show. I say that to all of the guys. When guys just do incredible things, bleed, suffer contusions, have incredible matches, I go to the back afterwards and thank them personally for putting their bodies on the line to give us a good show because I’m not. But the guys are and the girls are and it means a lot to me, it’s unbelievable. I told Jeff Jarrett that.”
“It was a great match, it really was. Usually he ends his match with a guitar, he started [this one] with a guitar, it was really good. I have a great relationship with Jeff Jarrett and his wife Karen and Cody. The whole group, Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt, I just enjoy it.”
