WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg returned to Monday Night Raw on June 16 to set up what is expected to be the final match of his iconic career. Goldberg confronted the new World Heavyweight Champion, GUNTHER, and challenged him to a match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12 in Atlanta.
The segment began with GUNTHER celebrating his recent title victory over Jey Uso. As he was speaking, Goldberg’s music hit, and the former WCW champion made his way to the ring.
Goldberg referenced a past altercation between himself and GUNTHER at the Bad Blood event in October, stating that GUNTHER “started something with his family.” He declared that he was going to “finish it” in his hometown of Atlanta.
Goldberg has been open about his desire to have one final retirement match. The challenge on Raw has now officially kicked off the build to that career-ending bout against the formidable “Ring General.”
