An emotional “Hangman” Adam Page spoke about what it meant to win the AEW World Championship in the main event of All In. Page had not held the title in over three years.
“I had to win this. I had to,” Page said during the post-show media scrum. “I spent so long thinking that I had reached the pinnacle moment of my career and that I was looking at a downward trajectory for the rest of my life… I needed to know, for myself, that I was still going to be able to live up to the potential that I had, because I had done that before. I knew this championship was my potential as a person. I needed to know, professionally and personally, that I could live up to it and that I could do this again. I had no choice.”
He also spoke about the responsibility he felt winning the title back for the company. “I cannot imagine the feeling for AEW, if after this gigantic show, Jon Moxley and the Death Riders had kept this championship. I cannot imagine the heartbreak that would have been for all of us. That responsibility was on my shoulders. I had no choice. It’s what I had to do.”
