Currently holding both the ROH World Championship and the AEW World Tag Team Championships, the high-flying luchador Bandido is having an incredible run of success. In a recent CMLL media call, he reflected on his journey, calling 2025 the best year of his career. This comes after a difficult period where a severe wrist injury and a complicated recovery process left him wondering if he would ever be able to compete at the same level again. His triumphant return has seen him not only regain his form but reach new heights, capturing major championships in two different promotions and re-establishing himself as one of the top stars in the world.
Speaking on the media call, Bandido opened up about the emotions he felt during his recovery and the gratitude he has for his current success.
“I think this has been the best year of my career without a doubt. I’ve had a lot of blessings come after my time out due to injury. It’s something that it’s hard to explain because it’s a lot of feelings found. I thought I would never be able to step foot inside a wrestling ring after all the injuries & surgeries, I thought things wouldn’t be the same, so being able to close out the year in this fashion has been incredible.”
Despite his many accomplishments, he revealed there is still one specific goal he wants to achieve.
“Now, the only thing missing in my personal career would be wrestling inside the (Hammerstein) Ballroom in New York because that’s where I was supposed to return and I ended up concussed. I got nerves about that place, but we gotta face it and continue to give everything to close out the year in the best possible manner.”
