“Hangman” Adam Page may be one of AEW’s most pivotal figures, but he refuses to see himself as the protagonist of the show.
Despite Matt Jackson famously stating that Page “was always supposed to be the main character of AEW,” the former World Champion pushed back on that label in a recent interview with Uncrowned.
“I just think of myself [as someone] who goes to work on Wednesday and tries to do the best job that I can… I don’t see myself as the main character of a show,” Page said.
He also reflected on his second AEW World Championship victory at All In: Texas, where he defeated Jon Moxley to reclaim the gold. Page insisted that even that crowning achievement felt bigger than just himself.
“It felt like it was less about me… and more about all of us together. And just to be the person, to be in that position, that was important to me.”
Page’s second reign lasted 133 days before he lost the title to Samoa Joe in a steel cage match at Full Gear.
