The Judgment Day underwent a violent transformation on this past week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, as the faction turned its back on one of its longest-tenured members. Dominik Mysterio, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and JD McDonagh coordinated a brutal assault on Finn Balor, officially excommunicating him from the group he joined back in 2022.
“JD McDonagh Finally Left Finn’s Shadow”
Appearing on The Collection, Dominik Mysterio provided insight into the decision to remove Balor from the fold. “There were a lot of differences going on, we weren’t being a cohesive unit, and at the end of the day, we played the Finn Balor playbook,” Mysterio stated. He noted that the move was necessary for the group’s survival, emphasizing that Balor should have anticipated the betrayal. Mysterio specifically praised JD McDonagh for “pulling the trigger,” noting it was a pivotal moment for McDonagh to finally step out of Balor’s shadow.
The betrayal has led many to label Mysterio as the new de facto leader of the faction. When questioned about this new hierarchy, Mysterio remained coy, responding, “I don’t know about the leader, but that’s what they say, allegedly.” Since Edge’s departure, the group has largely operated as a collective without a singular head, but Mysterio’s recent actions and his successful run as Intercontinental Champion have placed him at the forefront of the group’s current era.
