Ronda Rousey has arrived in AEW. The UFC Hall of Famer and former WWE talent made a surprise appearance at Revolution following the singles match between Toni Storm and Marina Shafir, immediately planting a flag in AEW’s women’s division.
Storm defeated Shafir with a small package and was celebrating on the entrance stage when Rousey entered the ring and called her back. Storm obliged, and the two went face-to-face before security and referees stepped in to separate them. The confrontation didn’t end cleanly — Shafir took advantage of the chaos and attacked Storm from behind while Rousey was being held back.
Rousey and Shafir’s History Dates to 2023 With MMA Return Looming in May
The Rousey-Shafir alliance is not new. The two teamed together in three tag matches in 2023 following Rousey’s WWE departure, including one in Ring of Honor. Their reunion at Revolution suggests a formal partnership in AEW going forward. Shafir is confirmed to be in attendance when Rousey makes her MMA return on May 16th against Gina Carano at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California — just miles from where Revolution took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Rousey and Shafir were spotted hyping up Jon Moxley as he entered the arena for his Continental Championship defense against Konosuke Takeshita shortly after the segment, signaling potential ties to the Death Riders faction as well.
