Sid Vicious will be posthumously inducted into the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame Legacy Class, as announced by Triple H on social media. Sid Eudy passed away from cancer on August 26, 2024, at the age of 63. This induction honors a remarkable career that spanned several decades and included world championship titles in both WWE and WCW.
“Regardless of the name you knew him by, Sid’s intensity was unmistakable in the ring and through your television screen,” Triple H expressed. “A multi-time champion in both WWE and WCW, and a two-time WrestleMania main eventer, it is an honor to announce that he will take his rightful place in the 2026 Legacy Class of the WWE Hall of Fame.”
Eudy made his professional wrestling debut in 1982 and first gained national attention in WCW, where he was part of The Skyscrapers tag team with Dan Spivey before joining the Four Horsemen alongside Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, and Barry Windham. He transitioned to WWE in 1991 under the ring name Sid Justice, headlining WrestleMania VIII against Hulk Hogan in April 1992.
He returned to WWE in 1995 as Sycho Sid and won the WWF Championship the following year by defeating Shawn Michaels, a moment that saw the audience rally behind him despite his heel persona. He claimed the title a second time from Bret Hart in 1997 and headlined WrestleMania 13 against The Undertaker, fulfilling Triple H’s reference to his two main events at WrestleMania.
Sid’s WCW tenure was equally remarkable. He captured the WCW World Heavyweight Championship twice in 2000, defeating Kevin Nash on both occasions.
His in-ring career came to an abrupt and devastating end during the main event of the WCW Sin pay-per-view in January 2001 when he suffered a double compound fracture of his left leg after jumping from the ropes—one of the most shocking injury moments in professional wrestling history. He made a brief return to WWE in 2012 for the Raw 1000 special and officially retired in 2017.
Sid will join AJ Styles, Demolition, Stephanie McMahon, and Dennis Rodman in the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame Class. The induction ceremony is set for Friday, April 17 at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas as part of WrestleMania 42 weekend.
