Multiple sources are now aligned on one conclusion: Ronda Rousey’s AEW Revolution appearance was a one-time deal. Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has confirmed there are “no plans for Ronda Rousey to be back anytime soon,” joining PWInsider and Fightful Select in reporting that her appearance was not tied to a contract and that a return is not on the immediate horizon.
The appearance at Revolution was driven by a combination of factors — the show was held in Los Angeles, local to Rousey, and in the same market as her upcoming MMA fight against Gina Carano on May 16 under Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions at Intuit Dome. She also appeared in support of Marina Shafir, who faced Toni Storm at the event.
Three Separate Reports Now Confirm Rousey Is Not Signed to AEW
Fightful Select was first to report Rousey had not signed with the company. PWInsider followed with similar language. Now Alvarez’ confirmation makes the picture complete. Rousey’s MMA return against Carano is her primary focus, with the May 16 bout marking her first fight since losing to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in December 2016. Whether wrestling factors into her future at all remains an open question, but for now the answer from all corners is the same — she won’t be back in AEW anytime soon.
