Tommaso Ciampa has turned the page on his AEW World Championship loss to Darby Allin in Portland with a message that was equal parts tribute and long-term promise. The day after their 18-minute main event on the April 22 Dynamite, Ciampa took to Instagram with a post that identified something profound in the dynamic between himself and the new champion.
“Last night, I encountered my wrestling soulmate. I have a hunch we will be doing this many more times over the next decade. Thank you AEW. Thank you Portland. Thank you Darby,” Ciampa wrote. He then delivered a vow about his own championship ambitions that carries the weight of someone who means every word. “Mark my words: it might not be this month, it might not be this year, hell, it might not even be 2027 — but there will come a time when I hold that AEW World Title.” Allin retained the championship in his first defense following his Spring BreakThru victory over MJF.
