Big E has shared an emotional response to the WWE exits of his New Day stablemates Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Earlier in the day, fans noticed that Kingston and Woods had been moved to the alumni section of WWE’s website, with Fightful Select and BodySlam+ subsequently confirming the departures.
The former WWE Champion took to his Instagram Stories to share an artwork depicting Woods and Kingston walking away, with Woods leaving behind his King of the Ring crown and Kingston dropping his trademark gear.
The departures officially close the book on The New Day, a faction that debuted in the summer of 2014 and quickly became one of WWE’s most popular acts thanks to their character work and on-screen chemistry. The trio dominated for the better part of eight years until Big E’s career-ending neck injury in March 2022 changed the group’s trajectory. Kingston and Woods later turned on Big E during The New Day’s 10th anniversary segment in December 2024, blaming him for leaving them stranded, but the angle never had a payoff because Big E was unable to return as an active competitor. He officially announced his retirement earlier this year.
