A social media exchange between Val Venis and MJF gave wrestling fans a bit of viral entertainment this week. Venis, who has previously drawn criticism for anti-transgender remarks, took aim at the AEW star out of nowhere on social media, writing simply, “Don’t get me started on MJF.”
MJF didn’t engage on his own terms — instead, he resurfaced a famous Cody Rhodes tweet originally aimed at Disco Inferno and turned it back on Venis.
“Stop. You know nothing. You have drawn 0 dollars. No fan has ever left a show thinking about you. You were lucky to be a juiced up double-lifer ‘over with the boys’ type in an era where you hid in plain sight coasting on others’ success. Couldn’t hang then, can’t get booked now.”
The exchange spread quickly across X thanks to the Cody callback, with fans noting MJF’s ability to weaponize an old quote without typing a fresh insult of his own.
