WWE, UFC, and Zuffa Boxing will all keep their commitments in Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East throughout 2026, according to TKO president Mark Shapiro. Shapiro confirmed the news during his prepared remarks on Wednesday’s TKO investors call, addressing what he referred to as “activity in the Middle East and neighboring markets.”
“We are firmly moving ahead with our scheduled events.”
That includes a UFC Fight Night in Azerbaijan and WWE Night of Champions in Riyadh, both on June 27. Shapiro said the events would proceed thanks to TKO’s commitment alongside its respective partners, “even and despite a challenging environment.”
He also addressed reports that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund had pulled funding for the LIV Golf league, saying TKO had received different assurances.
“Our partners in Saudi Arabia have confirmed that will not be the case with TKO. Their commitment to our properties in 2026 and beyond is unwavering.”
Shapiro added that all six remaining WWE, UFC, and Zuffa Boxing events scheduled for the Middle East after June 27 are expected to proceed as planned.
“The demand is real, our partners are committed, and we are leaning in.”
The remarks come after WWE president Nick Khan said in late April that the company would only return to Saudi Arabia if it was safe and if WWE was permitted to be there.
