WWE Backlash 2026 takes place tonight at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Florida, as the company kicks off its WrestleMania 42 fallout. Roman Reigns enters the show as World Heavyweight Champion following his Las Vegas win over CM Punk, but he now must defend the title against family — specifically, Jacob Fatu. Fatu cemented himself as a serious threat with his WrestleMania win over Drew McIntyre and has been targeting Reigns ever since, with Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso shaping up to play a pivotal role in the next chapter of The Bloodline saga.
The show also features a WrestleMania rematch as Trick Williams defends the United States Championship against Sami Zayn. Danhausen, in his in-ring WWE PLE debut, will face The Miz and Kit Wilson alongside a yet-to-be-revealed mystery partner. Speculation has run from CM Punk to Jelly Roll to John Cena, with Cena himself appearing on the show to deliver what he has called a “history-making” announcement. Cena said the reveal will change the WWE experience for both superstars and fans.
Backlash starts at 6 p.m. EST and airs on ESPN Unlimited in the United States, Netflix internationally, and ESPN2 for the first hour.
