Trick Williams sounds open to running it back with Carmelo Hayes. During the WWE Backlash post-show, fans began chanting for the former United States Champion as Williams sat with Lil Yachty on the panel following his win over Sami Zayn. Williams reacted to the crowd in real time and didn’t shut the door on a future match.
“Y’all wanna see Trick versus Melo?” he asked the crowd, which responded positively. “The people have spoken. I mean, shoot. Let’s see what happens.”
“Melo can get it too,” Yachty added.
The two have an extensive history. Williams was originally introduced as Hayes’ associate years ago in NXT before Hayes turned on him, kicking off a months-long rivalry that helped establish Williams as one of NXT’s biggest stars. Williams went on to capture both the NXT Championship and the TNA Championship during his developmental run.
The two have already crossed paths on the main roster, with Hayes beating Williams in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match back in February. Hayes has not been on television since dropping a United States title rematch to Sami Zayn on SmackDown ahead of WrestleMania 42.
