MJF has thrown out a Madison Square Garden pitch as the venue he most wants to see AEW run an event at. The discussion started when Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp asked fans where they would most like AEW to host a show, with MJF chiming in to name New York’s World’s Most Famous Arena.
The comment caught the attention of former WWE star Joe Gacy, who shared that his own experience with the legendary venue was anything but pleasant.
Actually getting AEW into MSG would not be straightforward. In 2018, WWE actively fought to prevent a Ring of Honor event from taking place inside the iconic building, and the venue has remained closely associated with WWE for decades. MSG has hosted multiple WrestleManias and other landmark WWE events.
WWE’s most recent pay-per-view at the venue was Survivor Series 2011, which featured The Rock’s in-ring return after seven-and-a-half years away.
