Paul Wight has re-signed with AEW, per Fightful Select. His contract was set to expire earlier this year, but he is now believed to be firmly under a new deal. The length of the contract has not been reported.
Wight joined AEW in 2021 and has served in backstage and commentary roles during his time there. His last televised match was a trios bout on the 2024 Jericho Cruise. He has been working on a significant weight loss transformation and has previously expressed interest in an in-ring return before retiring. “I would love to have a great heel run and work Darby,” Wight said of potential future opponents. “Even the old school one where I slammed Rey into the ring post when he was tied to the stretcher. I can only imagine the carnage I could do with Darby.”
