AEW Double or Nothing 2026 delivered three title changes and a shocking heel turn in front of a sold-out Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York on Sunday night, with MJF becoming a three-time AEW World Champion and TNT Champion Kevin Knight turning on Darby Allin in the closing moments of the show.
The main event saw MJF defeat Allin in 24 minutes to win the AEW World Championship and keep his hair. After the match, as medical personnel strapped Allin to a stretcher, MJF came to the ring to gloat. Knight ran out and appeared to chase MJF off — but once MJF was gone, Knight turned and hit a UFO Splash off the top rope onto Allin on the stretcher, flipping it over. MJF watched from the ramp and applauded. Knight stared down at Allin as the show went off air. Knight had been a pure babyface since joining AEW and was one of Allin’s closest allies. MJF is now one of only two wrestlers to hold the AEW World Championship three times, joining Jon Moxley.
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage won the AEW World Tag Team Championships from FTR in an I Quit Street Fight, with Cage threatening Dax Harwood’s nose with a pair of pliers before Beth Phoenix’s involvement helped close the match. The result saves Copeland and Cage from being forced to retire as a tag team, which was the stipulation if they lost.
Konosuke Takeshita defeated Kazuchika Okada for the AEW International Championship in a match that ended with Kyle Fletcher turning on Takeshita, kicking him out of the Don Callis Family immediately after the title change.
Jon Moxley retained the AEW Continental Championship against Kyle O’Reilly in the no-time-limit match, submitting him. Thekla retained the AEW Women’s World Championship in a four-way over Kris Statlander, Jamie Hayter and Hikaru Shida. Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland both advanced in the Owen Hart men’s tournament — Ospreay over Samoa Joe, Swerve over ROH World Champion Bandido. Athena defeated Mina Shirakawa in the women’s Owen Hart quarterfinal. The Stadium Stampede went to Jericho, The Hurt Syndicate and The Elite over The Demand, The Don Callis Family and The Dogs.
The Buy In saw the Death Riders defeat The Opps, Divine Dominion retain their Women’s Tag title eliminator over Zayda Steel and Viva Van, and The Conglomeration and Boom and Doom defeat Shane Taylor Promotions. Mick Foley made his AEW debut hosting the Buy In and had a face-to-face with MJF, who kicked him in the groin before Allin made the save.
