WWE posted footage from backstage at Clash in Italy showing a tense moment between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. Reigns opened a door directly into Rhodes’ path as the champion was walking by. The two stared each other down without exchanging words before Rhodes walked away. Reigns smiled.
Reigns had also drawn attention at the close of the show when, as the broadcast ended, he could be heard calling out “QB1” in the direction of Rhodes as he left the ringside area — a riff on one of Rhodes’ self-applied labels.
On the post-show panel, Rhodes addressed Reigns’ comments. He noted that when Reigns or members of The Bloodline speak negatively about him, their mutual history in the ring tells him all he needs to know.
