Eric Bischoff revealed on his 83 Weeks podcast that Chad Gable has been having discussions with Real American Freestyle, the amateur wrestling promotion Bischoff co-founded with Hulk Hogan.
“Chad Gable is a phenomenal, phenomenal amateur wrestler and is kind of sniffing around Real American Freestyle, just throwing it out there. We’re talking about it,” Bischoff said. “There’s some contractual issues that can kind of make that difficult, but we’re having discussions and relatively serious ones. So I think it’s just a matter of time.”
Bischoff did not clarify whether “we’re talking about it” means direct conversations with Gable or internal discussions within RAF. He also teased an unnamed second person with an amateur wrestling background who is “very excited” about RAF.
WWE and UFC are both TKO subsidiaries, and UFC already has a working relationship with RAF that allows contracted fighters to appear on RAF shows. Several UFC names including Merab Dvalishvili and Henry Cejudo have appeared on RAF cards.
