WWE has no plans for Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns during the summer of 2026, per WrestleVotes on WrestleVotes Live, despite the backstage staredown between the two world champions following Clash in Italy.
The two are currently 1-1 in singles matches. Reigns defended the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Rhodes at WrestleMania 39; Rhodes ended Reigns’ multi-year reign at WrestleMania XL. A rematch was teased heading into Survivor Series 2025’s WarGames, but those plans were shelved for WrestleMania 42. Rhodes instead headlined night one against Randy Orton, with Reigns defeating CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship in night two’s main event.
Both men are also set to appear in the Street Fighter movie due out in October — Reigns as Akuma, Rhodes as Guile.
WrestleVotes noted a champion vs. champion match between the two could fit the format of a future WWE Crown Jewel event.
