Sources within TNA strongly disputed Tommy Dreamer’s post-departure claims about his booking tenure, per False Finish, after Dreamer spoke on Busted Open Radio defending his time in creative.
Dreamer claimed on the show that he was building a productive culture at TNA, that he had planned to push M by Elegance to the top of the Knockouts division by 2027, and that his decision to delay Mike Santana’s world title win until after Slammiversary 2025 was a sound booking call that contributed to Bound for Glory setting a US attendance record for TNA.
TNA sources told False Finish that Dreamer’s version is inaccurate. “Sources inside TNA indicate that Tommy Dreamer’s statements are not accurate. Dreamer did not want to build contenders and in fact had control of who got pushed. The belief is that the culture will change for the better. The feeling is that the booking and creative wasn’t good and change was needed, especially with the bigger platform of AMC this year,” False Finish reported.
One source specifically refuted the Bound for Glory attendance claim, telling False Finish it was The Hardys vs. Team 3D match that drove the record attendance, not Dreamer’s Slammiversary booking decision.
Additionally, following Dreamer’s departure, multiple pro wrestlers accused him of inappropriate conduct. Dreamer did not address those allegations on Busted Open Radio.
