A new match and a challenge have been set for SummerSlam. Chad Gable won a number one contender’s gauntlet match on Raw, earning a shot at Penta for the Intercontinental Title at SummerSlam in Minneapolis on August 1 and 2. LA Knight then issued a six-man tag match: himself, Solo Sikoa, and Royce Keys against Jacob Fatu and The Usos.
Dominik Mysterio started the gauntlet by beating Joe Hendry before falling to Je’Von Evans, who got past Dragon Lee but lost to Rusev. Gable entered and beat both Rusev and Ethan Page to advance, keeping alive his bid for a first singles title in WWE.
The six-man came together after Royce Keys jumped Jimmy Uso following SmackDown, leading to a Raw match that saw Jacob Fatu interfere for a DQ. Solo Sikoa came out and said he was there to join the family, posing with Uso and Fatu before laying out Uso with a Samoan spike. Keys ran in and then Knight made the save, after which Knight issued the SummerSlam match.
