Michael Cole says the main event of Saturday Night’s Main Event will be CM Punk and Cody Rhodes against Gunther and Sami Zayn. Cole was asked on The Sal Licata Show whether Danhausen would be in the main event given his placement on the show’s marketing.
“The main event on Saturday will be a tag team match with CM Punk, the WWE Champion, teaming with Cody Rhodes, the guy he meets at SummerSlam for the title, against GUNTHER and Sami Zayn.”
Punk defends the Undisputed WWE Championship against Rhodes at SummerSlam on August 1 and 2. Rhodes has also had issues with Gunther, saving Nick Aldis from a beatdown on last week’s SmackDown.
Danhausen faces JD McDonagh at the July 18 show, his first match at Madison Square Garden and his Saturday Night’s Main Event in-ring debut. Danhausen has been taking abuse from Judgment Day in recent weeks after taking human monies from Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh, and McDonagh was electrocuted by one of Danhausen’s experiments.
