TNA has interest in J-Rod, one of the names set for WWE’s next tryout, according to a Fightful Select report. The current OVW Women’s Champion was given a tryout match at TNA’s Nashville tapings earlier this year and remains on the company’s creative radar despite recent changes to the TNA creative team.
The report says J-Rod’s name has come up in TNA creative circles for a while, and that under former booker Tommy Dreamer it was decided she was not ready to make the jump at the time.
J-Rod is one of twelve names set for a WWE tryout during SummerSlam weekend in Minnesota on August 1 and 2, joining Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Titus Alexander, MLW’s Josh Bishop, and Nightmare Factory graduate Brooke Havok, among others.
WWE often holds tryout camps during major premium live event weekends. Current NXT wrestler Lizzy Rain signed with WWE after one such camp.
