Roman Reigns says he chose not to hit Seth Rollins with the Shield chair at SummerSlam because he wanted to learn from his mistakes. Reigns retained the World Heavyweight Title against Rollins in the night two main event, their first singles pay-per-view meeting in years, and the two appeared to make peace by the end. Reigns explained the decision afterward.
“Do what I tell my sons, what I tell my daughter, learn from your mistakes. It’s time that we all grow up emotionally, you’ve gotta mature and learn from your mistakes and make them lessons, and that’s what I did tonight.”
Reigns noted the match took place in Minneapolis, where his football career ended, calling it full circle.
“This is where we close the loop. For it to happen here in Minnesota, this is where my football career ended and to be able to have this moment here, I’ve been saying it all day, God is a way better storyteller than all of us.”
“It’s always been me and Seth. Even in The Shield, we already knew what it was. We knew Ambrose was a wild hair but we knew we was the guys that was gonna change this place. We’re the pioneers of this place. When people left, when people was scared, when they ran off, we held the fort down.”
