Eight Nashville Kats were named to the Arena Football One all-league first team, with three more selected to the second team.
On offense, quarterback Tyler Kulka, wide receiver Malik Honeycutt, fullback Desmond Maxwell, offensive lineman Derrick Zieger, and kicker Kyle Kaplan made the first team. On defense, the first team selections were defensive back Omari Alexander and defensive linemen Jaquan Artis and Roderick Perry.
Offensive lineman Payton Muljo, defensive lineman Pika Leota, and defensive back Derrick Jones were named to the second team.
Four Kats ranked first or tied for first in the league in individual statistical categories during the regular season, with five more finishing in the top five.
Kulka led AF1 in total passing yards with 2,835 and total offensive yards with 2,817. Honeycutt led in total receiving yards with 1,047 and receiving yards per game at 95.2. Maxwell was first in rushing touchdowns with 12. Kendyl Williams tied for the league lead in points scored per game and touchdowns per game. Alexander tied for second in interceptions with seven and was named Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks to close the season. Artis was second in sacks with 10 and Jones second in solo tackles with 65.
The 12-1 Kats host the 10-3 Albany Firebirds in the Arena Crown championship game on Saturday at 3 p.m. at F&M Bank Arena.
