Jeff Jarrett says the long tights in his ring gear cost about $60 to $80 a pair in the 1990s.
On My World with Jeff Jarrett, Jarrett was asked how much his matching gear cost.
“I think I was getting them for about 80 bucks a pair, 60 or 80, not much, not much at all,” Jarrett said of the long tights.
He said a custom set with straps, sweat bands and tights ran about $250 to $350. His short tights in WCW ran about $200 to $400, and he said gear now runs about $400 to $700.
“But man, there’s some gear now. You look at AEW, WWE, those ring jackets. They’re easy 1500, 2000… Inflation has got us here. It continues to go up.”
Jarrett said his Double J cowboy hats were Charlie 1 Horse or Stetson hats that cost $300 to $500, and his dusters cost $500 to $700. His sunglasses ran anywhere from $10 to a couple hundred dollars.
“I never wanted to wear really nice expensive sunglasses to ringside because you’re going to get them broke or thrown or stolen or whatever.”
He said wrestling boots now cost about $300 to $500, and that there are far more boot makers than there used to be.
“Guys get them made everywhere now. It used to be just two or three different people. Now I think there’s all kind of boot makers.”
