Cody Rhodes says his WWE career could go about six or seven more years.
On Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Rhodes was reminded that he once said he would retire at 40. Rhodes, now 41, laughed it off.
“Told you an old Cody lie, huh?”
Rhodes recently signed a new deal with WWE.
“I just signed my last contract. I say last contract, that’s gonna go for a while… my time with WWE could go, just to give you a real answer here and not politic around you, probably seven? Seven years? Six, seven?” Rhodes said. “I definitely don’t want to wrestle into my fifties. No shame to anyone who wrestles into their fifties. I don’t want to overstay my welcome.”
Rhodes was also asked about “Cody fatigue” among fans.
“I mean, Cody fatigue is already pretty set in… Well, no. Maybe. Maybe. But I think you can only go so far. And you’re only supposed to go so far.”
He said there comes a point where you have to stop taking from the business.
“I’m not there, but there’s a point. And I think that’s in that time frame.”
