Liv Morgan Thought WWE Would Block Her Movie Audition

Liv Morgan says she expected WWE to say no when she asked to audition for Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo.

In an interview with Real Sound, Morgan said she worried the movie’s mature content would not fit WWE’s PG programming. She said several WWE executives are fans of director Takashi Miike, and they gave her permission once they learned he was involved.

Morgan said she filmed herself performing two scenes and sent the tape to the production team, who quickly decided she was right for the part of Megan, a woman who travels to Japan to train as a sushi chef.

The film also stars Shun Oguri and Lily James and is being released by NEON. Morgan filmed her scenes in Japan in May 2025, and NEON released the trailer in August.

Morgan is the current Women’s World Champion.
