WrestleTalk and Fightful reported today that Tony Khan and Shane McMahon met privately on Monday at a secluded airport in Arlington. During this meeting, they talked about potential future opportunities.
Fightful mentioned that Khan had been willing to have discussions with McMahon for some time. However, it was thought that they hadn’t actually spoken until the recent rumors about McMahon possibly joining AEW surfaced. The AEW President has reportedly been very receptive to the idea of collaborating with McMahon for several weeks and has shown that he’s open to conversations about it whenever people bring it up backstage.
Appearing on the SI Media podcast with Jimmy Traina, CM Punk asked about it. When asked, he said, “Pass.” When asked if it would shock him to see McMahon in AEW, Punk said, “No. I don’t think so.”
