Marshall Von Erich recently spoke to Busted Open Radio about his feelings after winning the ROH Six-Man tag team titles alongside his brother, Ross, and Dustin Rhodes.
The trio won their first set of gold during last week’s Collision event.
Marshall said: ““It was really special seeing Dustin because it was, his dad wasn’t there to experience that with him, but our dad was, so it was almost like Dustin had closure, having our dad there to be there with all of us. I’m not great with words, but it was a really, really heavy moment, and I can’t describe the feeling when we all got back in the locker room, and we all sat there. No words could be said. It all happened, it was telepathic eye contact. Wrestling is beautiful, man. I fell in love with wrestling once again. It was a beautiful weekend. I’ve never been so motivated and so inspired and as determined. I love this business. You don’t always get payoffs like that, and this is hopefully one of many, but got a little payoff of a weekend this weekend of all the work we put into wrestling and missing birthdays, missing all this stuff, it all made it worth it. It just a good time, great moment. He’s been a source of counsel for us for the past couple years. We’ll bounce ideas off of him, and any time we make any big decision, we’ll give him a call. This teaming, it’s real. He’s like the big brother we’ve never had, and getting in there together, it felt natural because we had a couple tag matches together, but having belts and all bring teamed up, it didn’t feel real until about yesterday, when we got home and made eye contact with dad, that’s when crap got real. Couldn’t really say much, but you could see it all in the eyes.“
