HOOK returned to AEW on the August 7 episode of AEW Dynamite, showing up right after the match between Katsuyori Shibata and Bryan Keith.
He sprinted to the ring to stop Shibata from getting attacked by Keith, Big Bill, and Chris Jericho. HOOK celebrated in the ring with the FTW Championship.
HOOK had been off AEW television for a month.
