Samoa Joe is laser-focused on his upcoming AEW World Championship match against the current titleholder, Jon Moxley, set for AEW Beach Break on May 14th.
In a recent interview with Express U.S. Sports, the former champion discussed his strategy for dealing with the notoriously unpredictable Moxley. When asked about facing such a chaotic opponent, Joe stated emphatically, “Moxley’s without a doubt a very chaotic and very unpredictable opponent. But you know, the best way to handle guys like that is just to keep walking forward straight, [and] smashing them in the face.” This aggressive approach reflects Joe’s known intensity and determination to reclaim the AEW World Championship.
He understands the responsibility that comes with holding the top title, having previously won it in 2023 by defeating MJF, a victory that made him the only wrestler to hold the AEW, ROH, and TNA World Championships. Looking ahead to Beach Break, Joe asserted, “A characteristic that’s indicative of the people who have been great in this business is the ability to deliver when it counts. When you are the main event and world champion, you’re expected to make sure that the fans are given their full and greatest amount of satisfaction and happiness. That solely falls on your shoulders.”
