Jay Lethal shared his thoughts on Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) recently joining The Hurt Syndicate in AEW. Over the last few weeks on AEW shows, MJF has tried hard to get approval from Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin to join their group, which also includes MVP. On the AEW Dynamite episode from Wednesday, May 14th, Lashley finally agreed and welcomed MJF.
Speaking on his tag team partner Jeff Jarrett’s podcast, Lethal talked about this new development. He noted how much the crowd reacted to Lashley’s decision. However, Lethal is not so sure about MJF’s new friends. He suggested that MVP, Benjamin, and Lashley are just using MJF because he’s known for always getting what he wants, often by taking shortcuts.
Lethal said, “I was very excited about the Hurt Syndicate adding MJF to the group, actually… From my view, I’m sure it’s probably going to lead to the Hurt Syndicate using MJF, because I think they view him as somebody who, no matter what shortcut he takes, he gets what he wants all the time. So, I think they’re going to use that. They can use that so much to their advantage.”
