AEW President and CEO Tony Khan recently shared positive news about the company’s television viewership, noting an upward trend even as AEW expanded its content to the Max streaming service. Speaking on The Toronto Sun’s No Holds Barred, Khan pointed to strong numbers on AEW’s cable partners.
Khan said that despite some analysts expecting a drop in cable viewership with the addition of streaming, the opposite has happened for AEW in 2025. He highlighted growth across their primary broadcast outlets.
“We’re still seeing record viewership on TSN, TBS, and TNT. The audience all went up from Q4 to Q1, even though we started streaming, more people are watching on cable, which is the complete opposite of what every analyst would’ve expected,” Tony Khan stated. He emphasized the overall positive effect: “We’ve grown our cable numbers as we expanded into the streaming universe, and that move to streaming has injected a lifeblood into AEW that’s been a really positive thing for the wrestlers, the staff, and the fans in 2025.”
