Xavier Woods has officially confirmed that he has re-signed with WWE on a new multi-year contract extension. The news was first reported by Fightful Select, who noted that the negotiations between Woods and the company came “down to the wire,” as his previous deal was set to expire in September. The new agreement ensures that the former King of the Ring and multi-time, record-breaking tag team champion will remain a key part of the WWE roster for the foreseeable future, putting an end to any speculation about his potential free agency. Woods’s re-signing is a significant move for WWE, as it keeps a cornerstone of one of the most popular and successful factions in the company’s history, The New Day.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Woods confirmed the report with his signature sense of humor.
“How do yall know this stuff? I didnt say anything! But yes. You’re gonna see my sexy face for a while longer even though you dont deserve it. 22 years in the game and about to make the next bit even better than the rest.”
The report from Fightful also noted that Woods’s re-signing comes at a time when WWE has recently been unable to come to terms on new deals with other talents, including Killer Kross and Santos Escobar. Woods has been with WWE since 2010 and recently underwent surgery to remove lymphoma from the back of his head, but his new contract signals a bright future for the beloved superstar.
