After a grueling recovery process, The Blade is back in the ring.
The AEW star made his long-awaited return to competition at the Blissmas 25 independent event in Buffalo last weekend. This marked his first match since February 2024.
The Blade had been sidelined due to a severe lower back injury that required fusion surgery in September 2024. During his absence, AEW President Tony Khan reportedly covered the costs for the surgery and physical therapy, ensuring the veteran was taken care of throughout his rehabilitation.
The Blade originally debuted in AEW in 2019 alongside The Butcher and The Bunny, becoming a staple of the tag team division. While there is no official word on when he will return to AEW television, his successful return to the indies is a promising sign for his future.
